FAMILY DAY OF INDONESIA, STAY IN TOUCH & WELCOME THE NEW FAMILY

SINTOK, 18 March- The Indonesian Student Association of Universiti Utara Malaysia (PPIUUM) had held an event called Family Day A171 at Tan Sri Othman Council to invite all Indonesian students in UUM to gather and have a team bonding with their batch mates .


The program director for Family Day A171 is Lutfi Ichsan. He said that this event is a good opportunity for Indonesian students to know each other in PPIUUM and encourage a great team building among them.


This was a very festive and fun event as there were various dance and musical performances by the Indonesian students in PPIUUM. There were also some live band performances such as Hot Mess and Badi and Friends.


Saman dance was also one of the most enliven in this event, which was performed by the Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) under the art and cultural division of PPIUUM. This is a famous and regular performance that is being invited for any Indonesian events in UUM.


Special guest for this event was the Vice Dean of International Studies School, Nazariah Binti Osman who gave a speech to the students and members of Family Day A171.

Participants of Family Day A171 wore unique traditional clothing of Indonesian culture such as ‘batik’ and traditional clothes from Bali. This was a different concept compared to the previous Family Day where the dressing code of the event was just casual or black and white outfits.


Besides, participants involvement in swaying and singing along in a song performance made this event more livelier and enjoyable too. There were also some food that portrays the original taste of Indonesian flavour served such as ‘Ayam Bakar’ with ‘Sambal Terasi’.


There were also various booths from each student club that offers extracurricular activities. There were a great participation of Indonesian students towards this activity booth.


There was also a Photo Booth with background decoration of The Balinese Ambience which was one of the main attraction in this event. This photo booth consist of decorations such as gates, Balinese shawl and typical Balinese statues made from polystyrene.


Finally, this event ended at 11 p.m.. Family Day by this association was said to be held every semester by PPIUUM members to maintain the image and the credibility of the association.
